The
CRAON-MAYENNE Horseracing Company (was officially inaugurated
at the Hippodrome de la Touche racecourse, on 10th September
1848.
A
few figures to give an idea:
- Surface
of 65 hectares ;
- 12
kilometres of tracks (harness, flat, steeplechase and cross-country);
- 32
different fences (including 2 fences over the RN Angers-Rennes
road;
- Large
stand 153 metres long and 30 metres wide, on two levels;

16,000 capacity under the
covered stand;
- Automatic
watering of all the tracks;
- 250
people working at the racecourse during the 8 racing days;
- 17,000
spaces in 7 car parks;
- Flat
track: 2,000 metres in length;

Harness track: 1,300 metres in length;
- Sixty
prestigious sponsors;
